Wichairachanon Hadpo ( Thai วิชัย ราชา นนท์ ; born March 3, 1968 , Khonken ) is a Thai boxer , representing the lightest and lightest weight categories. He played for the Thai boxing team in the late 1980s - mid 1990s, bronze medalist of the Atlanta Summer Olympics , winner of two bronze medals of the Asian Games, Asian champion, two-time winner of the Southeast Asian Games, winner and winner of tournaments of national importance . Also known as a Muay Thai fighter.

Biography

Vichairachanon Hadpo was born on March 3, 1968 in the Amphe Non Ruea of Khonken province. He was engaged in boxing from early childhood, was a student of the boxing team in college, and continued to train while serving in the Royal Thai Air Force . In Muay Thai competitions, he performed under the pseudonym Chingchai Luqfaaratit ( Thai ชิงชัย ลูก พระอาทิตย์ ).

In 1988, he became a member of the Thai national team and thanks to a series of successful appearances, he won the right to defend the country's honor at the Seoul Summer Olympics , where, however, he was defeated by the representative of Puerto Rico Andy Agosto in the first fight.

He achieved his first serious success in amateur Olympic boxing in the 1990 season when he attended the Asian Games in Beijing , from where he brought the bronze dignity award won in the lightweight category. A year later, he won the Asian Home Championships in Bangkok and the Southeast Asian Games in Manila .

Being among the leaders of the Thai boxing team, Hadpo successfully qualified for the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona , but again failed at the Olympics, in the first match he was stopped by German Mario Loch . Also this season, he became the best at the championship of the International Council of Military Sports in Denmark.

In 1994, he added to the track record the bronze medal received at the Asian Games in Hiroshima , took second place at the World Cup in Bangkok.

Since 1995, he performed in the lightest weight category - this season he won the Southeast Asian Games in Chiang Mai , became the second at the World Championship among military personnel in Italy, won the international tournament in Greece and received bronze at the international tournament "Cordoba Cardin" in Cuba, where he lost in the semifinals to the titled Cuban boxer Joel Casamayor .

In 1996, he went to represent Thailand at the Atlanta Olympics and this time achieved greater success - in the bantamweight category he defeated all three opponents in the tournament bracket and reached the semifinals, guaranteeing himself a bronze Olympic award. In the semifinals, however, he met with a strong Hungarian boxer Istvan Kovacs and lost to him with a score of 7:12. Soon after the end of these competitions, he decided to end his sports career [1] .

After completing his career, the athlete took up coaching. He is the owner of the boxing camp Rajanon, where he trains promising Muay Thai fighters [2] [3] .
