Biography
Li Jingliang was born on March 20, 1988 in the Chuguchak district of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region . From a young age he was fond of martial arts, seriously engaged in wrestling and wushu - Sanshou , after which he moved permanently to Beijing , where he underwent training under the guidance of the famous Chinese fighter Zhang Tetsyuyan in the China Top fighting team. He also mastered Brazilian jiu-jitsu , having received a brown belt in this discipline [1] .
Start of a professional career
He made his debut in mixed martial arts at the professional level in September 2007, beating his opponent ahead of schedule in the second round. The first time he fought in the local Peking promoshenah Art of War Fighting Championship and UMAC, where he invariably was the winner. Later in the period of 2010–2013, he actively participated in Hong Kong in the organization of the Legend Fighting Championship - he won five of seven fights here, including winning the title in the welterweight division.
Ultimate Fighting Championship
With eight wins and only two losses in his service record, in 2014, Lee drew the attention of the world's largest fighting organization Ultimate Fighting Championship and signed a long-term agreement with it. He made his debut here with a victory by split decision over American David Michaud . In the next battle, however, he gave the representative of France Nordin Taleb a rather controversial split decision [2] .
In 2015, he had two fights at the UFC, in the first one knocked out Brazilian Diogo Lima , in the second he was defeated by a technical surrender from the Japanese Keita Nakamura (originally had to fight another Japanese, Kiichi Kunimoto , but he was injured and was replaced by Nakamura). Later, he defeated such fighters as Anton Zafir, Bobby Nash, Frank Camacho - in the latter case he received a bonus for the best fight of the evening [3] . In addition, fights were planned with Chad Lepriz and Yancy Medeiros, but they did not take place due to the failure of rivals.
A fight against American Zach Ottow is scheduled for November 2017 [4] .
