Biography
Born in 1887 in the village of Guney-Kaler, Shusha district, Elizavetpol province (now the village of Guneyhyrman, Khojavend district of Azerbaijan / village of Guneygaler, Martuninsky district of the unrecognized NKR).
In the years 1930-1973, he worked on the collective farm "Communism" (formerly named after the Tula workers) of the Martuni district of the Nagorny Karabakh Autonomous Region of the Azerbaijan SSR. In 1947 he received a high yield of wheat - 39.1 centners per hectare on an area of 8.5 hectares.
By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of March 10, 1948 , for receiving high wheat yields in 1947, Avanesyan Gukas Tsaturovich was awarded the title Hero of Socialist Labor with the award of the Order of Lenin and the Sickle and Hammer gold medal.
