History
In the "List of Populated Places of the Russian Empire", published in 1876, the settlement is mentioned as the treasury village of Kostroma (Churi) of the Glazovsky Uyezd (1st camp), by the Kostroma River, located 30 miles from the county town of Glazov . There were 42 yards in the village and 362 people lived (194 men and 178 women) [2] .
Geography
The village is located in the northwestern part of Udmurtia, within the Verkhnekamsk Upland , on the left bank of the Kostromka River, at a distance of about 11 kilometers (in a straight line) to the northwest of the village of Yar , the administrative center of the region. The absolute height is 162 meters above sea level [3] .
