Biography
The representative of the Polish gentry clan Rachinsky coat of arms Nalench . The son of Lieutenant General Lev Rachinsky (1698-1755) and Viridiana Bninskaya (1718-1797).
In his youth he traveled a lot, knew several languages, did not serve in the army.
In 1764, Philip Raczynski, as ambassador from the Poznan Voivodeship, participated in the election of Stanislav Augustus Poniatowski to the Polish throne.
As a deputy, Kosciansky participated in the Separate Sejm of 1773-1775 , where he joined the Confederation of Adam Poninsky .
In 1776, Philippe Nereuzh Rachinsky bought patronage over the Rachinsky Dragoon Regiment, which in 1779 was renamed the 9th Infantry Regiment , and he himself received the general’s patent. In 1782, he was a deputy from the Poznan Voivodeship at the Sejm. In 1790, he was again elected as a deputy of the Poznan Voivodeship at the Four-year Diet . In 1792, he, along with part of his regiment, participated in the war against Russia . After the victory of the Targovitsa Confederation, he remained the chief of the 9th Infantry Regiment. He was consul of the Targovitsa Confederation from the Poznan Voivodeship. In 1794, he lost his patronage and settled in Glogow , later managing his estates in Greater Poland . He died in Rogalin .
In 1777, Philip Nereuzh Rachinsky was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav.
Personal life
Philip Nereuzh Rachinsky was married to Mikhalin Rachinsky (1768-1790), the daughter of the marshal of the court crown and General Kazimir Rachinsky (1739-1824) and Teresa Moshchenskaya (1745-1818). The couple had two sons:
- Count Edward Raczynski (1786–1845), Polish public figure, collector , philanthropist, traveler
- Count Atanasy Rachinsky (1788-1874), Polish public figure, diplomat .
