History

“Theorists”, as a clone of “The Big Bang Theory,” did not go unnoticed by the authors of the original series: the text of the author of the original series Chuck Lorry was posted [2] :

Belarus is a small, landlocked country located next to Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. According to Wikipedia, one of the main export products of Belarus is livestock by-products. The question begs itself - what kind of cattle is this that is suitable only for wallpaper glue and felt hats? But in Belarus, in addition, there is a television industry. One of the latest television hits is a sitcom about four nerd scientists who live next door to a charming blonde waitress. The characters are named Sheldon, Leo, Howard, Raj and Natasha, and the series itself is called "Theorists." Each series begins with a very quick installation of pictures that depict the development of our universe from the beginning of time to the present day. Continuing the theme, the montage is accompanied by the most terrible pop music that has ever been created from the beginning of time. And finally, each episode looks like it's a Russian translation of The Big Bang Theory. When we brought this fact to the ears of the copyright department at Warner Bros., we were told that it was impossible to sue, because the company that robbed us belongs to the government of Belarus. Since I have no other possibilities, I hope that those lovely people who make Theorists will read this letter, and that, suffering from remorse, they will send us a batch of felt hats. The authors of the Kyrgyz version of Dharma & Greg have already sent me wallpaper glue.

Belarus is a small, land-locked country next door to Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland. According to Wikipedia, one of its major exports is cattle by-products. Which begs the question, what horrible shape are the cattle in, if all they're good for is felt hats and wallpaper paste? But Belarus does have a bustling TV production industry. One of their most recent hits is a sitcom about four nerdy scientists who live next door to a beautiful blonde waitress. The characters are named Sheldon, Leo, Hovard, Raj and Natasha, and the show is entitled, The Theorists. Each episode begins with a rapid-fire montage of images which takes us from the dawn of time to the present moment. Keeping with that theme, the montage is scored with what is probably the worst piece of recorded pop music since the dawn of time. And finally, each episode appears to be a Russian translation of a Big Bang Theory episode. When we brought this to the attention of the Warner Brothers legal department, we were told that it's next to impossible to sue for copyright infringement in Belarus because the TV production company that is ripping us off is owned and operated by the government of Belarus. Having no other recourse, I'm hoping that this vanity card will be read by the fine folks making The Theorists, and, wracked with guilt, they break down and send us some felt hats. The Kyrgyzstan version of Dharma & Greg already sent me some wallpaper paste.

 "Chuck Lorre Production, # 277."

In addition to the official website, this English text was presented at the end of episode 15 of season 3 as “the facts of Chuck Lorry”, they are also “ vanity cards ” (“Chuck Lorre Production, # 277”).

The series was positioned as the "first Belarusian sitcom" [3] . STV did not buy back the rights to the "Big Bang Theory" from its creators. Having released four episodes, STV stopped filming Theoretiks [4] :

Filming of the "first Belarusian sitcom" is finally stopped. The only thing its creators want is to forget as soon as possible the story of the "theorists", which turned into a theory of great shame for the whole country.

Quotes

For all 28 minutes that was the first episode, there was not a single funny joke. A flatter humor, I have not heard in any other comedy series. To say that the jokes are incredibly stupid, consider not saying anything. This is Everest stupidity [5] .
