USSR Indoor Track and Field Championships 1973

The USSR Indoor Track and Field Championships 1973 was held on March 1–4 in Moscow at the Spartak winter stadium . In addition to Soviet athletes, foreign athletes from socialist countries were allowed to compete on a general basis. Over 4 days, 23 sets of medals were played.

The championship was held for the third time in history, and three athletes were able to win their discipline at each of these championships. These are Olympic champions Viktor Saneev (triple jump) and Nadezhda Chizhova (shot put in women), as well as Valery Voikin (shot put in men).

In three disciplines, foreign athletes became champions: Teresa Novak won 60 meters with barriers, Erika Rudolph won the high jump, and Viorika Viskopolian won the long jump.
