Biography
He graduated from the Tsivilsk city college, in 1912 he passed the exams for the title of teacher in an elementary school. In 1912–17 he worked in rural schools [1] .
After the February Revolution was elected to the organs of the zemstvos; in June 1917, he was a delegate to the 1st All-Russian Congress of Peasant Deputies (from the peasants of Tsivilsk Uyezd) [1] .
Participated in the creation of local Soviet authorities; in October 1918 joined the RCP (b) . In the years 1918-1922 he headed the department of management, the department of public education of the Tsivilsk district council of the executive committee. He was authorized by the Chuvash representation at the Presidium of the Central Executive Committee on the fight against hunger [1] .
In 1922-1925, he was head of the department of management and deputy chairman of the regional executive committee of the Chuvash autonomous region , in 1925-1927 - people's commissar of education, in 1927-1929 - secretary of the CEC, from March 1929 to October 1937 - chairman of the presidium of the CEC of the Chuvash ASSR [1 ] . He retired [2] .
In 1937, he was accused of bourgeois nationalism and counter-revolutionary actions [1] .
February 4, 1939, was arrested on charges of leading the anti-Soviet bourgeois nationalist organization of Chuvashia, in the active conduct of counter-revolutionary struggle against the party and the Soviet government. He died in a Kazan prison hospital [1] on March 4, 1942 from stomach cancer with metastases in the esophagus and intestines [2] . On May 23, 1942, the Secret Political Department of the NKVD of the Chuvash ASSR under Article 58 4 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR discontinued the case “after the death of the accused” [2] .
Rehabilitated on September 5, 1955 by the KGB under the Council of Ministers of the Chuvash ASSR: the 1942 resolution of the NKVD of the Chuvash ASSR on dismissal was canceled; the criminal case against A.N. Nikitin was dismissed due to the absence of corpus delicti in his actions [2] .
