Biography
Teryamaevaruua Pomare was the daughter of King Tahiti Tamatua II and Mo Mai. She was recognized as the heiress to the throne in the kingdom of Bora Bora, as her aunt Queen Bora-Bora Teriimaevarua II had no children. After death, Terjamaevaru Pomare became the queen of Bora Bora under the name Teriimaevaru III. Since the new queen was a minor regent , her husband was Terimiaevaruua II Themearius Mai. In March 1888, France announced the annexation of Bora Bora . This political act was of no significance, since the royal authorities of Bora Bora in no way confirmed their consent to the annexation act. Moreover, royal power and government continued to exist until 1895 . Only in 1895, at the request of the French government, Teriimaevaruua III abdicated.
