Barta ( Latvian: Bārta ) is a settlement in the Grobinsky region of Latvia . The administrative center of Bart volost . Located on the regional highway P113 ( Grobinya - Barta - Rutsava ). The distance to the city of Liepaja is about 38 km [1] . According to the data for 2017, 275 people lived in the village [2] . There is a volost administration, an elementary school, a house of culture, a library, a shop, a post office, and a local history museum.

History
In Soviet times, the village was the center of the Bart village council of the Liepaja district . In the village was the central estate of the Bart collective farm [1] .
