Rules
After the experiments in the previous season, we returned to the classic scheme of the 2-round tournament “each with each” from the playoffs following the results of the main championship. 14 teams are participating in the tournament - 12 clubs that participated a season earlier were added to Zorkiy from Krasnogorsk , who returned to the Super League (by decision of the Executive Committee of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation [1] ), and Stroitel from Syktyvkar , who won the final tournament of the Major League season 2016 / 2017 [2] [3] .
Teams that took 1st-8th places in the regular season go to the playoffs, which, according to the playoff system, determine the championship winners, starting from the ¼ final. According to the results of the regular season, the first 3 clubs select opponents in the playoff series from the number of clubs that took places from 5 to 8 in the regular season. Competitions ¼ finals are held up to two victories. The first game the team, which took a higher place in the regular season, spends on the opponent’s field, and the second and, if necessary, the third, on their field. The final places of the teams losing in the ¼ finals are determined by the results of the regular season. The team that takes the highest place in the regular season takes the 5th final place, etc. Competitions ½ finals are held up to three victories. The first two games the team which has taken a higher place in the regular season holds in their own field, and the third and, if necessary, the fourth - in the opponent’s field. If each team wins two victories in a series, then the fifth game on the team’s field is appointed, which won a higher place in the regular season. Teams that lose in the games of the series ½ finals, spend two games among themselves for 3 place. Games The final is held from one game - March 25th.
