Sevdaliza ( born Sevda Alizadeh ) is a Dutch pop singer and songwriter of Iranian descent. Her real name is Sevda Alizade, but is better known under her pseudonym Sevdaliza [1] [2] [3] .

Biography

Born September 1, 1987 in Tehran ( Iran ) [4] . She and her family moved to the Netherlands at the age of 5 years. At 16, she left home, as a result of school basketball training, she began to play for the Dutch national basketball team. Studied at the university, received a master's degree in business communications [5] . The singer fluently speaks several languages: Persian , Dutch , English , French and Portuguese [6] .
In March 2014, Sevdaliza released her debut single, “Clear Air,” along with a music video [7] [8] [9] . After there were songs “Sirens of the Caspian” and “Backseat Love” [10] [11] . In January 2015, the debut mini-album The Suspended Kid (EP) was released, on which she worked for more than a year and a half [5] . The Suspended Kid was produced by Sevdaliza herself and Mucky's Rotterdam producer. In September, a music video was released for another track of the mini-album in the style of industrial R&B [5] “That Other Girl” [12] . On June 19, 2015, the singer released “Marilyn Monroe”, which became the lead single of her second trip-hop EP mini-album, Children of Silk [5] . The video for him was released on March 30, 2016 [13] . Children of Silk was released on November 24, 2015 [14] . In May 2016, the short film Sevdaliza, called The Formula, was released [15] . This film is dedicated to the topic of losing an unborn child "the pain of losing an unborn child destroyed balance in marriage and leads to tragedy" [16] . Filmed by Emmanuel Adjei (co-directed and produced by Sevdaliza herself), this film includes 3 Sevdaliza songs, including “The Language of Limbo” from the ISON album [15] . In October 2016, a new single, titled “Time”, was released [17] . The following month, another single, called “Human,” was released, along with a video clip [18] [19] . Human, Marilyn Monroe, and The Language of Limbo will be released later on ISON .
