History

Unlike other football associations of North Brabant , founded at the beginning of the 20th century, the club was primarily a secular society [2] . The company was initially associated with the Dorofei fraternity and the patronage of Leonardo van hat hat Heuvels, so the club was forbidden to play football on Sundays, but then members of the society decided to follow their own path.

On June 5, 1910, a meeting of representatives of the society was held in the Betier van Rijswijk cafe, on which it was decided to establish the TSVNOAD club [2] . The acronym TSV stands for Tilburg Sports Association, and the acronym NOAD has two historical meanings: Nooit Ophouden Altijd Doorgaan and Nooit Opgeven Altijd Doorzwoegen , which in both cases literally translates as "never give up, always act." The first president of the club was Joe Skelleckens, and the first treasurer was Janus Verbunt. The team's first football field was a pasture on Koningshuven , southeast of Tilburg. The NLA team played football only with clubs that are under patronage, but did not play with Roman Catholic clubs [2] .

In 1917, the club joined the Netherlands Football Union and began performing in the Second Class of Group B [2] . In the debut season, the team took first place, and in butt games it was stronger than Bradania from Breda . In the first match, a draw 0-0 [4] was recorded, and in the return game at the Boseveg stadium, the goal of Jan Panis brought the team a victory and an exit to the First class [5] [6] . In the first season, the club took sixth place in the southern group of the championship , scoring 5 victories, 3 times playing a draw and 8 times losing [7] . In the 1920s, the club performed well in the championship, the team was well known and the number of supporters only increased, so the NLA moved several times until it was at the Industraistrat stadium. In the 1927/28 season, the club became the winner of the southern group and entered the final tournament, which determined the champion of the country [2] , where Feyenoord , Ajax , ZAK and Velositas became its rivals. As a result, the NLA took third place in the championship - the team never lost at home [2] , however, on the road it was able to score only one point. In 1930, the team was led by English coach Tim Coleman [2] .
