Michael Broadhurst ( Japanese マ イ ケ ル ・ ブ ロ ー ド ハ ー ス ス Burodohasuto Maiker , born October 30, 1986 in Gisborne , Michael Broadhurst ) is a Japanese New Zealand-born rugby player who plays in the flanker, lock (club) or eight Black Rams ' Japanese Top League and Japan National Team .

Biography
Club career
Broadhurst graduated from New Zealand Campion High School. He began his career in the regional team "Turn Bay", speaking in the regional championship Miter 10 Heartland Championship . In 2008, he joined the New Zealand Heartland team "(The team, which includes players from regional clubs) as one of the leading players in the competition [1] . In 2009, he moved to Japan, becoming a player in the Kubota Spears club; since 2011, he has been playing for the Rico Black Rams club from the Japanese Top League. The citizenship of Japan received in 2017.
Team Career
Despite his appearances for the New Zealand Hartland team, Broadhurst chose to play for the Japanese team. In 2012, he received sports citizenship of Japan, having lived for three years in this country, and in June of that year made his debut in a series of two friendly matches against the French club French Barbarians "By playing in the castle position. Broadhurst made an attempt in the second match of the series, and in November of the same year held the first official match for the Japanese national team against Japan , replacing [2] . Broadhurst’s second official match was against Georgia ; in both matches, the Japanese celebrated victory.
In 2013, due to the injury of one of the key players in the team of Michael Litch, Broadhurst was called up to the main squad to the flanker position. In June of that year in two test matches against Wales, Broadhurst was noted for his attempts, and in the second test match on June 15, with his efforts (two attempts), the Japanese won their first victory over Wales [3] . Having missed almost all of the 2014 matches due to injury, Broadhurst returned to the national team in 2015 and was included in the application for the Rugby World Cup in England. He played all four matches at the World Cup in the group stage, in three of which the Japanese won.
Family
Michael's younger brother, James , plays for the New Zealand national team and represents the Hurricanes club in Super Rugby .
