Johnston Lorikeet [1] ( lat. Trichoglossus johnstoniae ) is a bird of the parrot family. The view was first discovered in 1903 at the foot of Mount Apo . The species name was given in honor of the English breeder of birds Marianne Johnston, who at the beginning of the 20th century managed to get offspring of birds for the first time in England.

Endemic of the island of Mindanao ( Philippines ).
It inhabits mountain rainforests at an altitude of 1000 to 2500 m above sea level. At night, the birds descend to the plains, and with sunrise again fly off into the mountains.
They nest in the hollows of woodpeckers, where the female lays 2 eggs and incubates them for about 6 weeks.
