Zagorets, Pavel Avksentyevich

Born on January 13, 1914 in the village of Mlynok, Mozyr district, Minsk province.

School education - 7 classes. In 1929-1934 He worked first in Gomel , then at the Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Combine .

In 1938 he graduated with honors from the Moscow Institute of Chemical Technology. DI Mendeleev .

From 1939 he worked in the Arctic : in the Nordwick Expedition of Glavsevmorput (1939-1944), in the Mining and Geological Administration of the Glavsevmorput in the Trust "Arctic exploration" (1944-1945).

In 1945-1947 Engineer in the reparations department of the Soviet military administration in Germany .

He studied in the graduate school of the Moscow Institute of Chemical Technology, in 1951 he defended his thesis with the award of the degree of candidate of chemical sciences.

From May 1952 on the scientific and pedagogical work at the Department of Chemical Physics of the Engineering Physico-Chemical Faculty of the Moscow Institute of Chemical Technology. Since 1955 and. in 1957-1990, Head of the Department of Chemical Physics (since 1959, Department of Radiation Chemistry and Radiochemistry). Administrative positions: Deputy Dean, Dean of the Faculty, Vice-Rector for Science, then for Academic Affairs. Among the students is Corresponding Member of the RAS N.P. Tarasov , doctor of sciences A.N. Ermakov, I.A. Krylov, V.V. Shcherbakov, E.S. Shapiro, N.P. Shapovalov, A.G. Shosenko and others.

Doctor of Chemical Sciences (1969, thesis entitled “Investigation of the solvation and structure of electrolyte solutions”), professor (1970).

One of the organizers of the training of specialists in the field of non-military use of atomic energy.

Author of more than 300 scientific papers and many inventions.
