History
In 1991, during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait and the subsequent international military operation Desert Storm , Yemen took a neutral position [1] . In 2015, Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Jawad Al-Abadi paid an official visit to the United States of America , where he made a statement stating that Iraq condemns the hostilities of the Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia in Yemen. Hyder Javad Al-Abadi added that the actions of Saudi Arabia in Yemen do not make sense and she went too far, starting to bomb the territory of this country. According to the Prime Minister of Iraq, the civil war in Yemen is an internal affair of this country and it is not necessary to intervene in the armed forces of other countries, but assured that Iraq will make every diplomatic effort to bring peace to Yemen [2] .
In 2016, Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al-Jafari held talks with representatives of the Hussites , who are one of the parties to the armed conflict in Yemen. The Hussite representative during the meeting confirmed his readiness to resume negotiations with the other side of the conflict in order to stop the bloodshed in the country [3] .
