Studio Ponoc ( 株式会社 ス タ ジ オ ポ ノ ッ ク Kabushiki-gaisha Sutajio Ponokku ) is a Japanese animation studio located in the city of Musashino in Tokyo Prefecture . It was founded by Yoshiaki Nishimura in April 2015. The first and so far only full-length film of the studio - Mary and the Witch Flower (Meari to Majo no Hana), was released in 2017 .

Content
Name Origin
The name of the studio comes from the Bosnian-Croatian-Serbian word “ ponoć ” literally meaning “midnight”, which can also be translated more poetically as “the beginning of a new day” or “the arrival of a new day” [1] .
History
, a producer who previously worked at Ghibli , as well as several animators who also worked there, founded the new Studio Ponoc on April 15, 2015 [1] [2] [3] .
During the summer campaign of 2015, the studio worked on advertising for JR West [2] .
Mary's first full-length animated film and the Witch Flower ( Meari to Majo no Hana ) was released in 2017. The film is based on Mary Stewart ’s children's novel The Little Broom. A few former Ghibli studio employees joined Ponoc to work on this film [1] [4] .
In 2018, Studio Ponoc released three-part anime movie diamonds Little Heroes: Crabs, Egg, and Invisibility . The release of Little Heroes took place in Japan on August 24, 2018. Initially, the film almani was to consist of not four, but four parts, the director of the fourth part was to be the legendary Isao Takahata , but he died on April 5, 2018, so he had to limit himself to only three parts [5 ] .
