Offseason Events
Salary Ceiling
For the 2018/19 season, the league set a limit on the team pay fund at 850 million rubles. Clubs can exceed this figure by paying an additional fee of 20%.
Changes to the rules
Starting from this season, the format of scoring has changed - now for the victory in the matches of the regular season two points will be awarded (previously the victory in regular time brought three points). From the 2018/2019 season, the general points system looks like this:
- Any victory - 2 points
- Loss in overtime or in a series of shoot-offs - 1 point
- Lost in regular time - 0 points
Belarusian hockey players are no longer officially considered legionnaires in the Continental Hockey League [1] .

Discovery Cup
In the first match of the season, the owner of the Gagarin Cup β Ak Bars β and the owner of the Continent Cup met - a prize for winning the KHL regular season - SKA . The match, which took place in Kazan at Tatneft-Arena , ended in a SKA victory with a score of 6: 1.
SKA repeated the KHL record for the biggest victory in the first match of the season. In 2015, Magnitogorsk Metallurg on home ice did not leave a chance for Moscow Dynamo . The meeting ended with the same score - 6: 1.

Article 14. Determining the results and places of teams in the First stage of the Championship
1. The places of teams in Divisions, Conferences and the General table of the Championship are determined by the sum of points scored in all Matches of the First stage of the Championship.
2. To determine the current and final distribution of places between teams in Divisions, in Conferences and in the General Table of the Championship, in case of equality of points between two or more teams, the team receives the advantage:
- - 2.1. Having more wins in regular time in all Matches of the First stage;
- - 2.2. Winning more overtime victories in all the matches of the First stage;
- - 2.3. Having won more victories in a series of throws determining the winner of the Match in all Matches of the First stage;
- - 2.4. Having the best difference of the abandoned and conceded goals in all the matches of the First stage;
- - 2.5. Having more goals scored in all Stage One Matches
Note. The above criteria are applied sequentially;
- - 2.6. If all of the above indicators are equal, the distribution of places between teams is determined by lot.
3. In the official tables of the Conferences, the teams occupying the first places in the Divisions are placed in the first and second places depending on the number of points scored in all the Matches of the First Stage of the Championship in decreasing order of sports results.
