Artyom Mikhailovich Vargaptik (born July 2, 1971 , Moscow [1] ) is a Russian music critic and broadcaster.

Biography
Born July 2, 1971 in Moscow. The son of chemist Michael Natanovich Vargaftika , grandson of thermal physics Natan Borisovich Vargaftika .
He graduated from the Academic Music School at the Moscow Conservatory and the Russian Academy of Music. Gnesinykh in cello and postgraduate studies at the Moscow Conservatory in the Department of History and Theory of Performing ( 1998 ). He played the cello in several orchestras. Since 1997 - teacher of the history of cello art in the RAM. Gnesinyh .
In 1994–2003 he was the music columnist for the Echo of Moscow radio station [2] , since 2004 he has been leading the program “Controversial Music” on the “ Mayak ” radio station (since 2014, on Radio Kultura).
Since 1996 - the host of programs devoted to classical music, on television: the program "Garden of Culture" on Russian television, a cycle of programs about Richard Wagner on the TVC channel, the program "The scores do not burn" and "Orchestra pit" on the TV channel "Culture" ; music columnist of the programs “Situation of things” and “ In the meantime ” (“Culture” TV channel) [2] . Twice winner of the Russian television award " TEFI " ( 2003 , 2004 ).
Since 2007, Artyom Vargaftik began an active collaboration with the Moscow Philharmonic. In the Chamber Hall of the Philharmonic Society started his author's project for children and youth, entitled "Popular Musical Encyclopedia".
