Primorsky Boulevard ( Ukrainian : Primorsky Boulevard ) is one of the main streets of Mariupol , located along the coast of the Sea of Azov within the Primorsky District . From the north-western side, the gardens of TsPKiO, the territory of sanatoriums and dispensaries of the city adjoin the boulevard, and from the southeastern side are urban beaches, separated from the carriageway by the Mariupol - Port railway line. The length is 2 km.
Previously called the Lower Portovskoye Highway , in the prewar years it was renamed Sanatorium Avenue , and since 1949 - Stalin Avenue . In the late 1960s, an oil depot was moved from the boulevard outside the city, the pavement of granite pavers was replaced with asphalt, the fences were demolished, bushes, roses were planted, etc. In the early 1970s, tram rails were removed ( trams of the 4th route here walked from the 1930s), and a trolleybus was launched along the boulevard.
