Rotenstein, Simon

Simon Rotenstein ( German: Simon Rotenstein , c. 1890 -?) - German chess player of Jewish origin, master. He lived in Berlin . In 1930 he became the champion of the city. He participated in tournaments of German chess players and several international matches. The main competition in Rothenstein’s career is the strong international tournament in Berlin (1928). After the Nazis came to power, he was deprived of a German passport and participated only in competitions called the Jewish Championship of Germany ( German: Jüdische Meisterschaft Deutschlands ). In 1935, Rotenstein became the winner of such a tournament (with Sammi Fayarovich and Yankel Mundshtuk). The place and date of death of the chess player is unknown.
