Coat of arms of the Far Eastern Republic

The coat of arms of the Far Eastern Republic was approved by a government decree of November 11, 1920 . The emblem was a red heraldic shield, inside of which a sheaf of wheat, an anchor , a kaylo and a silver star, all in the rays of the sun, were depicted; the shield was surrounded by a pine wreath intertwined with a ribbon with the letters of the abbreviation of the name of the republic.

The Constitution of the Far Eastern Republic of April 27, 1921 approved the emblem of the Far Eastern Democratic Republic ^[1] :

Section 180

• The State Emblem is approved, the description of which is as follows: on a red shield is a pine coniferous wreath, inside of which against the background of the morning dawn with the appearing sun and a five-pointed silver star (at the top of the background) - an anchor and a pointed pointed cross crossed through a sheaf of wheat, point down; on the wreath on the right side on the red dressing is the letter “D”, on the left is “B”, the letter “P” is below the cuttings of coniferous branches.

The symbols of the coat of arms denote the economic functions of the Far East, its territorial and historical features. The main ones are a sheaf of wheat and crisscrossed keillos and an anchor. Kailo is the emblem of hard work (in the old heraldry it is the emblem of the mining industry), from the point of view of the territory it means Transbaikalia. Anchor is an emblem of coastal cities, a sheaf of wheat symbolizes the granaries and fertile lands of the Amur basin. The shield is left in the coat of arms as its most important part, but it does not have the Old French (typical for Russian emblems), but a changed shape. The bast in the form of a coniferous wreath and the canopy in the form of a star are moved to the inside of the coat of arms. The revolutionary symbolism of the coat of arms is close to the laws of Russian heraldry, expressed clearly and readily. ^[2]
