History
The great mosque in Oran was named after the Algerian Muslim theologian, organizer of the Association of Algerian Muslim Ulema, Abd al-Hamid Ben Badis . The design of the mosque was submitted to the Department of Religious Affairs in 1974 , but then the project was not registered. The construction of the mosque began in 1999 , but soon the Chinese contractor company stopped construction work due to lack of funding. The opening of the mosque took place on April 16, 2015 [1] .
