Fernan Diaz Pais (or Fernan Diaz Pais Leme , also known as the Emerald Hunter ; 1608–1681) is one of the most illustrious Bandeirans - the Portuguese pioneers in Brazil .

Biography
Originally from Sao Paulo . Participated (or was the leader) in the Bandeira, committed in 1638, 1644, 1661 and 1674. He died in a sertan (wilderness) in the territory of Espiritu Santo . Great-great-grandfather of St. Anthony of Galvan .

Sumiduro National Park has the Fernan Diaz House Museum, recognized as a national treasure. It was created in memory of several years during which the latter was looking for gold and precious stones in the district [1] .
