Laslo Somogodya ( Hungarian. Somogyi László ; June 25, 1907 , Budapest - May 20, 1988 , Geneva ) - Hungarian conductor , composer and teacher.

He studied in Budapest with Zoltan Kodai , and also in 1935 in Brussels with Herman Scherchen . In 1945 - 1952 led the Hungarian State Symphony Orchestra (initially, a short time, together with Ferenc Fritschai ). In 1952 , as a result of a peculiar castling, he headed the Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra (while Janos Ferenczyk moved in the opposite direction). After the Hungarian events of 1956, he left the country, worked in Europe and the USA, in 1964 - 1968 . led, in particular, the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra .
