Biography

In 1986 he graduated from the history department of Yerevan State University , in 1989 - postgraduate studies at the department of history of the same university; Candidate of Historical Sciences. In 1989-1991. taught general and diplomatic history at the Department of History of Yerevan State University . In 2009, he graduated from the Jawaharlal Nehru University Doctoral School . Doctor of International Relations.

From 1991 - Advisor on External Relations of the 1st Deputy Chairman, then the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Armenian SSR ; Since 1992 - Advisor to the Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia .

In 1993-1995 - Deputy Permanent Representative of Armenia to the UN ; in 1995-1997 - Consul General of Armenia in Los Angeles . In 1996 he was given the rank of envoy extraordinary and plenipotentiary minister.

In 1997–2000 - Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia;

In 1999 he was assigned the rank of ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary. Since 1998, simultaneously taught at the Institute of Foreign Languages. Bryusov, associate professor.

In 2000–2004 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to India , in combination also in Sri Lanka , Nepal and Indonesia .

From December 2004, he served as Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia and Chief Negotiator with the European Union. February 23, 2008, declared the inadmissibility of the use of force against the people, thereby supporting the popular movement; on the same day, he was dismissed, depriving the ambassador of diplomatic rank [1] .

In 2008–2013, he was the chief adviser of the UN Office in Armenia [2] .

In 2014–2018, he was a professor at Massachusetts State University.

Since September 2018 - Consul General of Armenia in Los Angeles .
