TAP3 ( Transferred Account P rocedure 3 ) version 3 of the GSM Association data format for the exchange of data for charging. This format is mainly used in the field of mobile radio communications for the exchange of payment information in roaming . The main difference from versions 1 and 2, which had a fixed field width but were ASCII text, version 3 is binary ( ASN.1- Syntax) and can only be read using special software.
