Ross, not wanting to be thrice divorced, tells Rachel that the marriage is annulled, although this is not so. It gives Phoebe, and in the end they still get divorced.

Chandler and Monica do not get married, but decide to start living together. Chandler moves to Monica’s apartment , Rachel moves to Phoebe, and Joey finds a new neighbor, the dancer Janine. They start a romance, but Janine demands that Joe no longer communicate with Monica and Chandler, so their relationship ends.

Ross, who was dismissed from the museum, is arranged as a teacher of paleontology at the University .

Joey needs money and takes a job as a waiter at the Central Coffee House . He quits from there, having received the main role in the series “Mac and G.A.Z.” (in the original “Mac and CHEESE”).

There is a fire in Phoebe’s apartment and you can’t live in it for some time. Rachel settles in the apartment of Monica and Chandler, and Phoebe - with Joey. But soon they are changing, and Rachel becomes Joey's neighbor.

Ross begins an affair with his student Elizabeth. At the same time, Rachel is dating this student's father Paul, who hates Ross. By the end of the season, both couples break up.

Chandler decides to propose to Monica, but that she did not guess about anything, declares that she is an opponent of marriage. Upset Monica meets her ex-boyfriend, Richard, who, as it turns out, still loves her. Learning of Chandler’s intentions, Richard “leaves the road”, and Chandler and Monica are engaged.
