Wagon repair depot Salsk is a separate structural unit of the open joint-stock company Wagon Repair Company - 3 [1] , located in the city of Salsk, Rostov Region (Frunze St., 35 "a").
History
November 20, 1935 at the station Salsk was created car repair station [2] . The new enterprise carried out mainly average repairs of freight cars of all types, except for isothermal ones, carried out annual inspection of mobile vehicles at 18 repair dead ends and routine repairs. The company had 550 people. Before the start of World War II, new workshops were built (woodworking, spring). During the war years, production facilities were destroyed.
After the liberation of the city of Salsk from Nazi occupation (January-February 1943), depot workers began to restore the destroyed economy (they had to restore up to 70% of the enterprise) [3] .
Since 1946, the Salsky car-repair section was included in the created Salsk branch of the North Caucasus Railway .
Since 1948, the car repair section has specialized in the overhaul of freight cars. At the beginning of the 50s, new buildings of workshops and domestic premises were built [3] .
In 1956, the Salsky carriage section became known as the carriage depot. He was headed by the head of the depot, who had two deputies: on operational work and planned types of car repair.
In 1965, the assembly shop was reconstructed, which made it possible to use a bridge crane with a lifting capacity of 10 tons, to identify repair stalls with the installation of stationary shafts and equipment of workplaces with electric welding lines, compressed air, low-voltage lighting [4] .
In subsequent years and decades, the construction of new sites, the modernization of equipment, and the improvement of living conditions for work and leisure continue. In 1988, an administrative building was built, a classroom was organized in the vacant rooms, a family dormitory was equipped, and a health center was built.
Until 1997, the Salsky car depot was part of the Salsky branch of the North Caucasus Railway.
In 2005, the Salsk wagon depot of the Rostov branch of the North Caucasus Railway, a branch of Russian Railways, was transformed into the Salsk wagon repair depot of the Directorate for the Repair of Freight Wagons.
Since July 1, 2011, the VChDR Salsk is a separate structural unit of JSC “VRK-3” [4] .
Activities
The car repair depot Salsk is repairing freight cars of various modifications within the framework of depot and overhaul [1] .
