El Bahlulia [1] ( Arabic البهلولية ) is a small town in northwestern Syria , located in the territory of the Latakia governorate. Included in the Latakia district. It is the administrative center of the same name Nakhia.

Geographical position
The city is located in the west of the central part of the governorate, to the south of the reservoir on October 16 formed on the river Nahr el-Kebir al-Shamali , at an altitude of 74 meters above sea level [2] .
El Bahlulia is located approximately 12 kilometers northeast of the city of Lattakia , the provincial capital and 233 kilometers north-north-west (NNW) from Damascus , the capital of the country.
Population
According to the official census of 2004, the population of the city was 4,665 (2,406 men and 2,259 women) [3] . In the confessional composition of the population, the Alawites prevail [4] .
Transportation
The nearest civil airport is Basil Al-Assad International Airport [2] .
