History
The first mentions of the village of Takyarlu date back to 1604 due to the large relocation of the population as a result of the conquest of Shah Abbas Persian . From the beginning to the middle of the twentieth century, livestock breeders of neighboring areas temporarily inhabited. Until 1965, the village was part of the Sevan district, in 1965-1988 - as part of the Hrazdan district of the Armenian SSR.
Previously, the village was merged with the Hankavan dairy farm. Currently administratively includes the settlement of Pyunik [4] . Until the 1990s, most of the villagers were Azeris. The climate is healthy, useful for summer holidays. On the left bank of the Marmarik River in front of the village is a ruined church. Nearby are the Artavaz Monastery and the abandoned villages of Karakala and Ulashik. In the village there are children's camps [5] and rest homes.
On the southern edge of Artavaz is a ruined church. Nearby is the monastery "Artavazavank" (VII century).
There are 70 students in secondary school. [1] There is a club.
