Career
Henk Staps began his football career on the NLAA team from Tilburg, making his debut at the age of eighteen. In the transitional season 1955/56, his team took 9th place in Group A of the championship and, following the results of butt matches, got the right to play in the new tournament - Eredivisi, the country's single championship.
The attacker spent the first game in the new championship on January 20, 1957 against the BVK club Amsterdam - his team lost 1-0 [1] on the away at the Olympic Stadium. NOAD in the first ever Eredivisi season took 12th place. In the summer of 1957, put up for transfer [2] , but in the end remained in the team. In the 1957/58 season, Henk had 7 games played and one goal scored - on January 19, 1958, he hit the ADO goal at Industraistrat Stadium [3] .
For two seasons in Eredivisi for the NLA, he spent only 8 matches.
Personal life
Henk was born in September 1936 in the city of Tilburg . Father - Arnoldus Martinius Johannes Staps, mother - Johann Wilhelmina Maria Bauens, both parents were from Tilburg. In addition to Henk, the family also had a daughter - Adriana Cornelia Johanna, who was born in May 1939.
He died in May 2012 at the age of 75. A few days later was cremated [4] .
