History

The village of Nikolskaya was founded in 1821 [2] . In 1899, in the village of Nikolskaya, belonging to the Zalesovsky volost of the Barnaul district, there were 40 yards and 346 people lived (173 men and 173 women). A public bakery store was functioning [3] . As of 1911, the village included 50 courtyards. There was a public bakery and small shops. The population at that time was 379 people [4] .
In 1926, there were 72 households in the village and 475 people lived (218 men and 257 women). The national composition of the population was dominated by Mordovians. Administratively, Nikolskaya was part of the Borisov Village Council of the Chumysh District of the Barnaul District of the Siberian Territory [2] .

Geography

The village is located in the north-eastern part of the Altai Territory, on the banks of the Tatarka River (a tributary of the Chumysh River ), at a distance of about 17 kilometers (in a straight line) east-northeast (ENE) from the village of Zalesovo , the administrative center of the region. The absolute height is 223 meters above sea ​​level [5] .
The climate is temperate, continental . The average January temperature is −19 ° C, July - +18 ° C. The annual amount of precipitation is up to 600 mm [6] .
