Eugene Ivanovich Evets ( November 14, 1905 , Grodno Province , Russian Empire - March 17, 1990 , Paris , France ) - figure of the Russian diaspora, composer , conductor , regent of the choir of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Paris, popularizer of Russian musical culture.

Biography
After the October Revolution of 1917, he remained with his parents in his small homeland, which became part of Poland. In 1933-1936 he studied at the Warsaw Conservatory . He also studied singing. He received the specialty of a music teacher, choirmaster , regent. He directed the church choir.
After the outbreak of World War II, from the end of 1939 he worked as an organist. In 1939-1941, he was a psalmist and regent in the city of Bielsk Podlaski (now Podlaskie Voivodeship , Poland ).
At the end of the war, he was among the displaced persons in Germany , where in 1946 he became a member of the People's Labor Union of Russian Solidarists . In 1947, he was one of the founders of the Orthodox Church in the Mönchegöf camp (near the city of Kassel ), leading a choir group with her. He took part in the work of the journal "Sowing" .
In 1948 he moved to Morocco , where he directed the church choir of the Assumption Church of Casablanca . There he created a children's choir and folklore group, with whom he toured throughout the country.
After independence, Morocco moved to Paris in 1962. He organized a church choir of Russian youth at the Spiridon Church in Rueil-Malmaison near Paris (France). He later became regent of the choir of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral on Daryou Street in Paris (from 1966 (according to other sources, from 1968) to 1990). He often performed at concerts and events organized by immigrants. Headed the choir of the Russian student Christian movement .
Member of the Honorary Committee of the Paris Society of Zealots of Orthodox Church Singing. Since 1970, he taught the basics of musical knowledge and vocal singing in the evening courses of church singing and reading at the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. He took part in the adaptation of translations of church chants into French .
He was buried in the cemetery of Saint-Genevieve-des-Bois .
