International educational institutions in Azerbaijan

Activities at the general education level are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan , the Law "On Education" of the Republic of Azerbaijan, relevant orders, decisions and orders, the Regulations on the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and other normative acts [1] .

International Schools

Baku Oxford School

The Oxford School of Baku was founded in 1998 and is an international educational day school. In 2001, the first two students graduated from Baku Oxford School. In 2003, the school received the status of the Cambridge International Center. In 2009, a branch of the Baku Oxford School in Shemkir was opened. In 2015, the school became a member of the European Council of International Schools (ECIS). Education in the school is conducted in English , but the Azerbaijani and Russian languages ​​are also supported at the native level.

Admission to school is announced for children from 5 years. At school there is an art studio. For those who wish to receive a British Certificate of Secondary Education without leaving the borders of Azerbaijan, the school offers a 2-year program for students from 14 years of age and older, conducted in conjunction with the British Council for Education in Azerbaijan. The school has created a program for preparing students for admission to universities in the UK and other countries [2] .

Baku Lyceum Ataturk

The Baku Lyceum of Ataturk began its activities as part of school No. 8 on September 1, 1992, by decrees of the Cabinet of Ministers dated August 31, 1992 on the basis of cooperation between the Azerbaijan and Turkish Ministries of Education. After the repair of school No. 133, from July 1, 1993, he continued his activities in its composition [3] .

Baku European Lyceum

Baku European Lyceum is a state school for children, functioning since 1991. The institution is managed by the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan. The scientific and methodological guidance of the European Lyceum is conducted by the Republican Scientific and Practical Center "Inkischaf" at Baku State University.

Extracurricular activities such as chess, volleyball, basketball and table tennis are also conducted at the institution.

Baku French Lyceum

The Baku French Lyceum was created to teach French-speaking French-speaking foreign citizens temporarily or permanently residing in Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani citizens.

In March 2011, between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation , the French Embassy in Azerbaijan , the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Education , a Declaration of Intent was signed on the construction of a French lyceum in Baku , and in October of the same year, with the participation of the presidents of Azerbaijan and France, the foundation of the lyceum was laid. September 12, 2014 was the opening of the Lyceum.

Education at the Lyceum is based on the classic French curriculum used in a 12-year educational institution, starting from kindergarten. The curriculum, in accordance with the requirements of the national education system of France, is conducted in French. The certificate, which will be issued to students, will comply with the standards and requirements of the French Ministry of National Education and will be recognized by the Ministry. Graduates of the Lyceum, in accordance with their choice, will have the opportunity to continue their education at any higher educational institution in France.

Azerbaijan European School (EAS)

The Azerbaijan European School is a private joint educational day school founded in 2011 by the European Azerbaijan Society (TEAS), a UK-registered European organization with offices in Azerbaijan , Belgium , France , Germany and the United Kingdom . The school is run by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, but is significantly different from public schools, offering special international programs. These include the International Undergraduate Program (IB), Cambridge International Exams (CIE), and the IB Diploma Program. In 2012, the school had only 95 students, the number of which increased to 780 students; includes a program for the early years (ages 4 and 5 years) in addition to its program for grades 1-11.

While the vast majority of our students are citizens of Azerbaijan , students of other nationalities also receive education at the school, and the teaching staff consists of Azerbaijani teachers and foreign hired teachers.

Baku International School

The Baku International School was established by Quality Schools International (QSI) in 1994 as a private non-profit educational institution that offers pre-school, elementary, high school and a secondary program leading to graduation.

Azerbaijan International School (TISA)

The International School of Azerbaijan (TISA) opened in September 1996 . In this school, more than 610 students of 50 nationalities receive education, of which 24% are from the UK , 17% from the USA and 13% from Azerbaijan . It is a global IB school and is accredited by the Council of International Schools and a member of the Association of Schools of Central and Eastern Europe (CEESA).

Since September 1998, the school began to function as a department in AIOC, and then in BP-Amoco (now BP). Between 1999 and 2001, TISA conducted an intensive period of curriculum development and received permission from the International Undergraduate Organization (IBO) for each of the three international undergraduate programs: Initial Years Program (PYP), Middle Years Program (MYP) and Diploma Program (DP ) In 2003, TISA was accredited by the Council of International Schools.

Educational Center "XXI Century"

The 21st Century International Educational and Innovation Center was founded in 2001. The training center is open 5 days a week from 8:45 to 18:00. It consists of kindergartens, preparatory, primary and secondary schools (age 3-17 years). Training at the Center is carried out in three languages: Azerbaijani, Russian and English.

There are 15 special courses and after-school classes. Starting from grade 5, students attend additional foreign language courses of their choice: French , German or Spanish . Since 2008, the Center has been providing programs for the Cambridge International Basic Program (CIPP) and the International Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE). There is also a Cambridge International Examination Center.

DΓΌnya School

Dunya School was founded in 1,998 in Azerbaijan by Professor Hamlet Isahanli within the framework of the Khazar University with the aim of educating preschoolers and schoolchildren 3-17 years old. IB World School is accredited by the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). In the 2012-2013 academic year, the School received the title "Best School of the Year."

Training is conducted in three languages: Azerbaijani, Russian and English. Graduates with an IB diploma have the opportunity to get direct access to many universally recognized universities. . The school also has a SAT course and a SAT testing center so that graduates can enter American universities [4] .

Baku-Turkish Anatolian Lyceum

The lyceum was opened on January 24, 1994 as a result of an agreement signed between the Ministries of Education of Turkey and Azerbaijan on February 28, 1992.

British School in Baku

The British School in Baku is a member of COBIS (Council of British International Schools) and the Council of International Schools. This is the only British school in Azerbaijan recognized by the Department of Education of the United Kingdom. The British school in Baku consists of two areas: international and British. The curricula and conditions are the same in both directions.

Since 2007, the secondary school of innovation "BSB" has been operating. The school is licensed by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. At the same time, he received the status of the Cambridge Regional Examination Center, and was also officially registered in the QCA (Qualification and Training Association in the UK). In addition to the English national curriculum, the Azerbaijani language, literature, history and geography are taught by teachers of the Azerbaijan branch in the Azerbaijani or Russian languages [5] .

International cooperation

The activity of the department of international cooperation is based on the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Education, on the Charter of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the Ministry of Education, on the Charter "On sending citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan abroad to receive education and getting education by citizens of foreign countries in educational institutions of Azerbaijan" and other regulatory legal acts .

The Department of International Cooperation, together with other structural organizations of the Ministry and educational institutions, operates in such areas as general secondary education, higher and specialized secondary education, and also determines the main directions of international cooperation in the field of scientific activity of higher schools, monitors their implementation, regulates and enforces all issues and tasks related to the β€œTraining of citizens of the Azerbaijan Republic in foreign countries at the state expense ( within the framework of the State Program for the Education of Azerbaijani Youth Abroad in 2007-2015 "and intergovernmental contracts)" and the training of foreigners in educational institutions of Azerbaijan.

Education of foreign citizens in Azerbaijan

Education of foreign citizens in higher educational institutions of the Republic of Azerbaijan is regulated by the "Rules for the training of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan in foreign countries, foreigners and non-citizens in the Republic of Azerbaijan", approved by Decision No. 125 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 1, 2015 .

Most of the foreign students studying in our country are citizens of Turkey , Iran , Georgia , Russia , and the People's Republic of China . Along with this, citizens of the United States of America , Norway , India and other world states study at various levels and levels of education in our country. Higher education institutions that foreign students prefer include such universities as the Azerbaijan Medical University , the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction , the Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry , the Azerbaijan State Economic University, and the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University.

Foreign citizens are entitled to receive education at all levels and levels of education in educational institutions of the Azerbaijan Republic , as well as in scientific research centers at the doctoral level of higher education and clinical facilities at the level of residency of medical education. A small part of foreigners can be educated at the state expense only on the basis of an appropriate intergovernmental agreement, and most can be paid on the basis of contracts signed between higher education institutions [6] .
