Gameplay

Future Shock uses a first-person view. Each level in the game requires the player to solve several problems before moving on to the next level. The player fights with enemy robots using a wide arsenal of weapons and grenades. Another obstacle for the player is the area contaminated with radiation . Locations can intersect in three ways: on foot, in a jeep with a mounted gun or an Hunter-Killer airborne attack aircraft (air combat robot).

There is no multiplayer game in Future Shock . It was added only in the sequel - The Terminator: SkyNET , in which deathmatch mode also appeared.

Story

In The Terminator: Future Shock, the story begins in 2015 with the escape of the protagonist from the death camp. The character meets John Connor , the leader of the Resistance, and the young Kyle Reese . After completing several missions for the Resistance, their headquarters are attacked by the terminators of the T-800 model. Helping Connor and the rest of the leadership in moving to a new headquarters, the protagonist begins to meet opponents from "out of nowhere." It soon turns out that Skynet improved his temporary movement, and his version from the future actively manipulates time, placing his forces in key strategic places, trying to interfere with the successful resistance maneuvers. Resistance learns that Skynet uses time travel to transmit information to herself in 1995 in an attempt to increase the speed with which it becomes reasonable. Ultimately, the main character goes on a mission to stop this process, but he must hurry, as the headquarters of the Resistance are besieged, and Kyle Reese and Connor are seriously injured.

Contrary to the timeline specified in the movie Terminator 2 , Future Shock depicts 1995 as the start of a nuclear war, not 1997. Throughout the game, the player is surrounded by a post-apocalyptic environment.
