Biography
Born in 1895 on the territory of the modern Viesitsky region . Member of the CPSU (b) since 1917.
Member of the First World War and the Civil War, a member of the squad of Latvian riflemen guarding the Smolny . Since 1920 - on economic, social and political work. In the years 1920 - 1960 . - on party work in the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic , student of the Communist University of National Minorities of the West , on underground work in Latvia , arrested and convicted, released by the Soviet authorities, secretary of the Leyskurzem Regional Committee of the CP of Latvia , deputy chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the Latvian SSR , secretary of the Central Committee of the CP (B) of Latvia on transport, authorized by the Central Committee of the CP (b) of Latvia for work among evacuated citizens of the Latvian SSR in the Kirov region, editor of the newspaper “ Cīņa ” (“Struggle”), secretary of the Party Board of the Party Commission this at the Central Committee of the Communist Party (b) of Latvia, Chairman of the Party Commission at the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Latvia.
He was elected a deputy to the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd convocations.
