Gameplay

Eternal Card Game is a typical collectible card game in the manner of Magic: the Gathering. Having collected a deck of your own or proposed cards, the player needs to lower the opponent’s health from 25 to 0 units, putting cards on the battlefield in turn. A wide variety of game mechanics allows you to build different strategies, so a lot of attention is paid to preparing the deck itself and making decisions during the match. The game is based on a unique world invented by the developer. It combines a variety of genres: classic fantasy, western, steam-punk and others.

In the game there is the possibility of creating (crafting) cards from the material animatrin (shiftstone), which is issued when spraying existing copies or when opening the booster set.

Maps

Cards are divided into several types. They may have additional properties that are spelled out in words in the center of the map. For convenience, some combat skills are marked with a separate icon.

  • Power Cards - replenish the player’s power reserve necessary for playing cards. They do not have value. You can only play one card of this type per turn, unless otherwise indicated.
  • Creatures - cards with indicators of strength and health. Spread out on the battlefield. They can be attacked (by default, the creature attacks the opponent) and block. Upon reaching 0, health or less is discarded (Abyss). Creatures restore health at the end of each turn.
  • Spells are one-time effect cards. They can be regular or fast (see the structure of the course).
  • Curse - a card that is attached to someone else’s creature or hero and imposes a negative effect on it.
  • Relic - a card worn on the character’s avatar and giving a permanent effect. Can be removed by a disarming spell.
  • Weapons - an additional card for the creature, giving him bonuses.
  • Relic weapons - an additional card for the player’s avatar, giving him bonuses and the ability to attack himself.

Cards also vary in degree of rarity: ordinary, unusual, rare, promotional and legendary. You can get cards during the passage of the campaign, completing tasks, create it yourself if you have special items, or purchase sets of cards in the store.

Resources

Eternal implements a threshold system for working with a resource system. To play this or that card, you will need a certain amount of power (the number on the card is from the top left) and power (elements of the elements on the card are from the top left). At the same time, the power reserve is common for all cards, regardless of the required power. That is, power is considered the value of the card, and power is the requirement for laying on the table.

There are five fractions (world forces) in the game, each of which has its own color.

  • The element is blue.
  • The flame is red.
  • Time is yellow.
  • The order is green.
  • The shadow is purple.

There are also cards of several fractions (black frame) and neutral (gray), without reference to color.

Move Structure

At the beginning of the game, players receive 7 cards. One retake is allowed, during which the player is guaranteed to receive 2-4 strength cards. The one who will walk first is randomly selected. With the exception of the very first move, at the beginning of his turn, the player draws a card.

During his turn, the player can in any order:

  • replenish power reserve;
  • play any cards that meet the conditions;
  • declare attack as creatures;
  • activate the relic property;
  • hit with relict weapons.

After declaring an attack, the opponent can choose blocking creatures, cast a quick spell or a creature with the Ambush property. The player can also respond with quick spells. After choosing blockers and immediately after the battle, players can cast quick spells again until the end of the turn.
