History

In the “List of Populated Places of the Russian Empire”, published in 1861, the settlement is mentioned as the village of Soaps of the Mezen County (2nd camp), at the mouth of the Myla River, located 616 miles from the county town Mezen . In the village there were 3 yards and 18 people lived (9 men and 9 women) [2] .
As of 1920, in the village of Mylskaya there were 25 yards and 116 people lived (49 men and 67 women). Administratively, the village was part of the Crooked-society of the Ustsilma volost of Pechora district [3] .

Geography

The village is located in the northwestern part of the Komi Republic, on the left bank of the Soap River (a tributary of the Tsilma River), at a distance of approximately 59 kilometers (in a straight line) to the west of the village of Ust-Tsilma , the administrative center of the region. The absolute height is 72 meters above sea ​​level [4] .
