Zdzislaw Hoffman ( Polish: Zdzisław Hoffmann , born 27 August 1959 , Swiebodzin , Poland ) is a Polish athlete specializing in triple jump . Winner of the first world championship in 1983 in Helsinki . Nine-time Champion of Poland.

Career
Zdzislaw Hoffman’s first major tournament was the 1980 European Indoor Championships , where he managed to take 12th place and select the 1980 Olympics , the first in his life. Unfortunately, the debut was unsuccessful, he had to finish the competition at the qualification stage (16th place).
In 1983 he became the first in the history of the World Champion in the triple jump in Helsinki, showing the result of 17.42 meters. In the same year, he is recognized as the Athlete of the Year in Poland.
You can also mention his performances at the 1987 World Championships and the 1988 European Championships , where he took 12th and 8th places respectively. Zdislav during his career became the nine-time champion of Poland (1981, 1983, 1984 and 1989 in the open air, 1980,1983,1984, 1987 and 1988 indoors).
The personal record in the triple jump was set in June 1985 in Madrid - 17.53 . The record in the long jump - 8.09 , was set in May 1983 in Warsaw .
His son, Karol Hoffman, also performs in the triple jump and has achieved good results.
