The head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov in 2013 proposed ^{[7] [8]} to build a multifunctional complex on the territory of the Russian Federation, which will combine modern teaching methods and technologies in a wide range of tactical and specialized training disciplines, and will allow developing and making changes depending on the development of technologies training, advanced international experience and a range of tasks. The purpose of creating the university is to transfer the experience accumulated in the Chechen Republic in the fight against international terrorism to special units and units of various special services of the Russian Federation. ^{[9] [10]}

Interaction with the National Center for Assistance to Missing and Affected Children

On May 12, the National Center for Assistance to Disappearing and Affected Children with the Russian Special Forces University was launched. RUS instructors conduct courses for center volunteers throughout Russia, which include innovative technologies and training in a number of areas aimed at a more effective and efficient search for children.

A unique Russian educational center for training volunteers in tactical search operations, first aid, and the ability to handle technical equipment is starting to work at the Russian Special Forces University in Gudermes. They train dog handlers, work on reservoirs, use echo sounders, quadrocopters ^{[11] [12] [13] [14]} .

Jordanian World Force Special Forces Championship

In 2015, the Russian team, trained by the RUS instructor group, took first place at the World Championship among special forces in Jordan . The fight was fought between 43 teams from 19 countries, represented by the best fighters from around the world, including teams from China, Iraq, the USA and Canada. ^[fifteen]

Unique tactical and special exercises in the Arctic

In April 2016 ^{[16] a} group of employees of the SVO regiment of the Federal Service of the National Guard of the Russian Federation “Flying Squad”, prepared according to a special program by university instructors with the support of the Russian Geographical Society, conducted ^[17] unique tactical and special exercises in the Arctic. A group led by instructors landed three times at the North Pole and worked out various methods of special training in the Arctic for three weeks, with the aim of developing skills to perform tasks of varying complexity in extreme weather conditions. In the course of these exercises, instructors accumulated methodological material and practical experience in preparing special operations in polar latitudes. ^[18] In 2017, the leadership of the Federal Service of the National Guard of the Russian Federation decided to conduct training for a special unit for conducting Arctic training exercises, which is being created in the Russian Guard system on the basis of the Russian Special Forces University. ^[19]

In April 2018, employees of special units of the Russian Guard along with instructors of the RUS conducted large-scale exercises on tactical and special training in the Far North.

The exercises were held on an icebreaker in Murmansk, and the final stage was held on the Franz Josef Land Archipelago. During the exercises, the Arctic version of the Chaborz M-3 buggy produced by RUS ^{[20] [21] [22] [23] [24]} was also tested.

Chubors Military Buggy Production

In March 2017, under the leadership of the university's instructors team, serial production of the first Chugors M-3 combat buggies , which are already used in military exercises ^{[25] of the} Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, was launched. At the Army 2017 forum, a 6-seater buggy Chaborz M-6 was also presented ^[26] . After viewing the exposition of the Russian University of Special Forces, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergey Shoigu made a decision ^[27] on testing the buggy in the army and its possible purchase for the Russian armed forces ^{[28] [29] [30]} .

Chaborz M-6 has passed comprehensive tests in the most difficult conditions on the territory of the Russian Federation. At the beginning of 2018, Ramzan Kadyrov introduced to the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev a new development, as well as the Chaborz M-3 buggy, which already takes part in special operations in the Syrian Arab Republic , which has proven itself in all trials of the Ministry of Defense and the National Guard . Dmitry Medvedev praised the cars and promised to personally test them during the next visit to the Chechen Republic ^[31] .

Race of Heroes

In order to implement the direction of the physical and military-patriotic development of youth in 2017, the route of the federal obstacle course “Heroes Race” was erected on the territory of the RUS. The track was designed on the model of an obstacle course for special forces training, it is also used for physical training and passing official standards of various special units of the Russian Guard in the Chechen Republic . 2400 participants ran ^[32] 10 kilometers, overcoming 37 obstacles over rough terrain, with overcoming a mountain river.

Annual Championship among special forces of the Russian Federation in RUS

In May 2017, for the second year in a row, on the basis of shooting galleries and the tactical city of RUS, the ^[33] Open Championship of the Chechen Republic was held, dedicated to the memory of the First President Akhmat-Hadji Kadyrov on tactical shooting among power units. In 2017, 28 teams from various special units from the Russian Federation took part in the V Championship.

From the 11th to the 13th of May, the VI Open Chechen Republic Tactical Shooting Championship among power units was held on the territory of the Russian Special Forces University. The number of participating teams is increasing, their geography is expanding. In 2016, 15 teams participated, in 2017 and in 2018 there are already more than 30 teams. Due to the fact that RUS is commissioning new facilities of the complex, the organizers present participants with more and more interesting and complex tasks. During their implementation, employees will check their individual training, and also work out the coordination of interaction in groups and between them. The experience gained during the championship, the ability to communicate with each other and learn from the best of the strongest - all this helps employees from different regions of the Russian Federation in their operational and combat activities ^[34] .

The instructor team ^{[35] of the} university’s specialists is headed by the Assistant Head of the Chechen Republic, First Deputy Head of the Directorate of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation for the Chechen Republic Daniil Martynov ^{[36] [37]} . The team has extensive experience ^{[38] in the} preparation and conduct of special operations. For the fourth year she has been working on the development of training programs, trains trainers and manages the project of creating the University. Also, many foreign ^[39] military units are interested in studying at a university. ^[40]

RUS prepares specialists in various disciplines of the TSP : fire, tactical and special, airborne, mountain, diving, security, military medical, training of military journalists, dog training, auto training, engineering and IT training. All disciplines are also adapted for sports training of civilians ^[41] . On the basis of the university, training areas for security officers of senior officials and security companies ^[42] are being implemented, including general physical training, guarded person tactics, escorting, including automobile, medical first aid, preventive safety measures, counter sniping, hand-to-hand fighting and special training.

Also, mountain preparation is carried out. For training future climbers, a training ground in the village of Chishki is also equipped and a mountain training ground near the village of Nashha is being prepared ^[43] . At the moment, the project “15 peaks of the Caucasus” ^{[44] has been} implemented; within its framework, a group of certified mountaineering instructors is being prepared.

The construction of the Russian University of Special Forces is carried out on the territory of more than 400 hectares in the city ​​of Gudermes and is a multifunctional complex of 95 buildings and structures, equipped using special information and technical solutions.

A tactical city was built on the university’s territory, which allows simulating the conduct of combat in real conditions and practicing anti-terrorist tactics, as well as an open shooting complex with more than 20 shooting galleries of different firing ranges.

Tactical city and shooting galleries allow you to create an unpredictable environment. For example, various situations of assault and hostage-taking by terrorists are modeled.

In addition, a tactical pond with a water mirror area of ​​2 hectares and a depth of 10 m was built on the territory for all kinds of training in firing and practicing parachute and parachute landing on water. To implement the direction of air training ^[45] , an infrastructure is being created at the university including a runway concrete strip 1600 m long.

The building of the aerodynamic complex ^{[46] is} intended for the education and training of paratroopers in a vertical wind tunnel with a diameter of 5 meters and is equipped with an auditorium with 220 seats. For example, students already undergo training in jumping programs ^[47] with parachute systems of the “wing” type, with full equipment in adverse weather conditions and at different times of the day.
