Platynereis (lat.) Is a genus of marine polychaete worms from the Nereid family ^[1] .

The species Platynereis dumerilii is used in developmental biology to study development (embryogenesis), in particular because their embryos are fairly transparent and therefore easy to examine ^[2] .
