Content

History

In the 1868 List of Populated Places of the Russian Empire, the settlement is mentioned as the factory village Peshcherka of the Barnaul district (1st section) of the Tomsk province at the rivers Kamenka and Peshcherka. There were 55 yards in the village and 304 people lived (143 men and 161 women) [2] .
In 1899, in a village belonging to the Zalesovsky volost of Barnaul district, there were 147 yards (140 peasant and 7 non-peasant) and 713 people lived (338 men and 375 women). There were two tanneries, a soap factory, two manufactory shops and one small shop and a public bakery [3] . As of 1911, the village included 160 courtyards. The population at that time was 1007 people [4] .
In 1926, there were 407 households in the village and 1,820 people lived (871 men and 949 women). A first-level school and a consumer society shop functioned. Administratively, the Cave was the center of the village council of the Zalesovsky district of the Barnaul district of the Siberian region [5] .

Geography

The village is located in the north-eastern part of the Altai Territory, on the banks of the Kamenka River, near the confluence of the Peshcherka River, at a distance of about 9 kilometers (in a straight line) to the north-north-east (NNE) from the village of Zalesovo , the administrative center of the region. The absolute height is 215 meters above sea ​​level [6] .
The climate is temperate, continental . The average January temperature is −19 ° C, July - +18 ° C. The annual amount of precipitation is up to 600 mm [7] .
