Biography

Born in the family of a rural deacon . In 1888, Prokoshev graduated from the Vologda Theological Seminary in the first category. In the same year he entered the Kazan Theological Academy and graduated in July 1892 (Course XXXIII) with a candidate of theology with the right to receive a master’s degree without a new oral test. Among his teachers at the Academy was the Honored Ordinary Professor I. S. Berdnikov . On August 15, 1892, Pavel Alexandrovich was left as a professor scholarship holder at the academy to prepare for a professorship. Since August 26, 1893, Prokoshev taught Greek language, literature, and the history of literature at the Vologda Theological Seminary. On October 19, 1895, he defended a master's thesis, “Canonical Works of John, Bishop of Smolensky,” in the Council of the Kazan Theological Academy. From November 5, 1896, Prokoshev taught Russian, and from August 30, 1898, he taught pedagogy at the Vologda Diocesan Women's School . In combination with September 22, 1897, Prokoshev taught pedagogy at the Vologda Mariinsky Gymnasium .

Since 1898, the Ministry of Public Education offers Prokoshev to prepare a dissertation for a doctorate in church law. In May 1898, Prokoshev wrote a petition to the Ministry, in which he asked for release from writing a dissertation. The Ministry of Education refused him, explaining that Tomsk University requires a professor of church law to teach at the newly opened law faculty. In November 1898, Prokoshev was seconded by the Ministry of Education for two years at the Department of Church Law of Kazan University to prepare for the professorship. While at Kazan University, he attended courses in the encyclopedia of law, history of philosophy of law and church law. Since July 1, 1900 he has been an extraordinary professor of church law at Tomsk University. In November 1900, Prokoshev was appointed secretary of the law faculty of Tomsk University, in this position he was until November 1904. Since 1905, Prokoshev is a state adviser . In September 1905, Prokoshev was elected secretary of the law faculty of Tomsk University, in this position he was until September 1909. In April 1919, Prokoshev was elected a member of the Tomsk Diocesan Council. On December 22, 1919, the Red Army finally established Soviet power in the city of Tomsk. In April 1920, by decree of the Siberian Committee of Public Education, Prokoshev was dismissed as a professor at Tomsk University, after which he was sent to forced labor in Omsk .
