Jacob Anderson ( Prof ) - American hip-hop artist . During his career, Prof has released five studio albums and three mini-albums. The penultimate release, Liability , released via Rhymesayers Entertainment , ranked 141st on the Billboard 200 [1] and 19th on the Billboard Top R & B / Hip-Hop Albums [2] . In 2012, Prof was included in the list of the 20 best rap artists in Minnesota according to City Pages magazine [3] . Since 2000, collaborates with Rhymesayers Entertainment, has its own label, Stophouse Music Group.

Early years

Jacob "Jake" Anderson [3] was born in Minneapolis , Minnesota, in the small town of Powderhorn [7] . His mother, Colleen, had a tense relationship with his father, who suffered from bipolar disorder . Later, she divorced him, taking with her Jacob and his three sisters [7] [8] [9] . As a teenager, he became interested in hip hop and invented the "comedic-dirty rap character" Gampo [7] . In 2002, Anderson graduated from Minneapolis High School [7] .

Biography

Jacob began to engage in hip hop since the age of 16. He released his first album, Project Gampo , under the name Prof in 2007 on his own label Stophouse Music Group. This was followed by two more albums Recession Music (2009) and King Gampo (2011). In 2010, Prof took part in the Welcome to Minnesota tour, organized by Rhymesayers [10] . In May 2013, he replaced Busta Rhymes at the Soundset Music Festival in Minnesota with a one-hour concert. [10]

On December 3, 2013, Prof was signed by Rhymesayers Entertainment [11] . At the same time, a video was published by Jacob with rapper Slug , in which the release of the single The Reply was announced. In an interview with Star Tribune , Prof announced that he plans to release a new album in 2014 [10] .

In May 2015, Prof announced his first release on Rhymesayers, called Liability . In August of that year, Prof released the single, Ghost [12] . The record itself, Liability , was released on October 16, 2015 [13] , taking 141st position on the Billboard 200 [14] .

On April 13, 2018, Prof released his fifth studio album, Pookie Baby .

Discography

All Prof albums up to 2013 were released on the Stophouse Music Group [15] [16] . Liability was the first release of the musician on Rhymesayers Entertainment.
