Palmeloid state

The palmeloid state is a temporary stage of development that occurs in some algae under adverse conditions: motile ( Volvocaceae ), vegetatively never dividing ( Chlorococcaceae ), filamentous. It is expressed in development by dividing in 2-3 directions of spherical cells with loss of flagella [1] . These cells are able to return to their normal state in various ways [2] .
