Biography
Nefi's father was Mehmet Bey, the grandfather of Mirza Ali Pasha. Being a native of a wealthy family, he received a good education. He knew Arabic and Farsi . He wrote the first poems as a child. The nickname Nefi took on the advice of the poet Gelibolu Ali [2] [3] [4] .
He served as an official at the court of the Ottoman sultans Ahmed I , Mustafa I , Osman II and Murad IV . He also wrote poems for sultans and viziers. However, not for everyone, it is known that Nefi did not write anything for Mustafa I. He was known for his panegyrics and satirical poems. The acute satire of Nefi caused a negative reaction in many. In 1635, Bayram Pasha , one of the officials who became the subject of satire, achieved the execution of Nefi. January 27, 1635 the poet was hanged, his body after execution was thrown into the sea [2] [4] [3]
