Yanitskaya, Maya Mikhailovna

Maya Mikhailovna Yanitskaya ( Belorussian. Maya Mihaylakna Yanitskaya ; * May 22, 1931 , Valentinov farm, Pleshchanitsky, now Logoisk district , Minsk region ) - Belarusian art critic . In 1974 she received a Ph.D. in art history. Member of the Belarusian Union of Artists since 1975.

Biography

She graduated from the All-Union Correspondence Institute of Soviet Trade in Moscow in 1955, in 1970 - graduate school of the Institute of Art Studies, Ethnography and Folklore of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus with a degree in fine art. In 1971-1974, a junior researcher at the IMEF NAS of Belarus, in 1974-1977 she worked at the Belarusian Encyclopedia Publishing House (from 1975-1976 she was the head of the editorial office of the Collection of Monuments of History and Culture of Belarus). Since 1978, a senior researcher at the IIEF National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, since 1991 - at the Francis Skorina National Research and Education Center, and since 1997 - at the multimedia editorial office of the Belarusian State Institute of Culture.

Creativity and scientific work

Explores the history of Belarusian culture, including decorative and applied art. Author of the books “Belarusian art glass (XVI — XVIII centuries)” (1977), “Sources of glassmaking in Belarus” (1980), “Fedor Zilbert” (1980, a creative portrait of a ceramic master), “Belarusian art glass of the 19th – early 20th centuries” (1984), “Lyudmila Myagkova” (1984, creative portrait of the master), “History of the Glass Rainbow” (1986), “Art Glass of Soviet Belarus” (1989).

The first author of fundamental articles on the history of various types of decorative art in a series of encyclopedic publications. One of the authors, scientific editors and a member of the editorial board “Collection of Monuments of History and Culture of Belarus” (1984-1988) and the serial scientific publication “Return-1”, “Return-2”, “Return-3”, “Return-4” ( 1992-1997), one of the authors of the “history of Belarusian art” (t. 1-6, 1987-1994), as well as the first multimedia publication of the Belarusian Institute of Culture Problems “Belarusian Culture. The best pages: Iconography. Traditional costume. Architecture. 100 rarities from museums of Belarus ”(2000). He is the author of many articles in periodicals of Belarus and Russia devoted to the review of exhibitions of various types of contemporary art, analysis of the works of personal exhibitions of contemporary artists of Belarus, as well as the compiler of catalogs of these exhibitions. The compiler of the section "Decorative and Applied Art" of the album-catalog "Belarusian Art of the 20th Century" (2003).
