Valentin Filippovich Plekhanov ( May 1, 1933 , the village of Bolshaya Treshchivka, now Ramonsky district, Voronezh region , Russian Federation - April 30, 2006, Odessa ) - Soviet military leader, lieutenant general, head of the Political Directorate of the Odessa Military District. Member of the Supreme Council of the Ukrainian SSR of the 11th convocation. A candidate member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine in 1986-1990. Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine in 1990-1991.

Biography

He graduated from high school.

Since 1950 he served in the Soviet army.

In 1950 - 1953 - cadet of the Ryazan Artillery School.

Member of the CPSU since 1953 .

In 1953 - 1955, he was the commander of a sonar reconnaissance platoon in the city of Lomonosov in the Leningrad Region. In 1955 - 1958 - commander of a training platoon of the 1st school of artillery sound reconnaissance in the city of Kingisepp, Leningrad Region.

Since 1958 - on military-political work: assistant to the chief of the political department for Komsomol work of the 1st school of artillery sound reconnaissance in the city of Kingisepp, Leningrad Region.

In 1958 he entered the correspondence department of the Faculty of Philosophy of the Leningrad State University named after Zhdanov.

In 1958 - 1961, he was an assistant to the head of the Komsomol political department of the Orenburg school of artillery intelligence sergeants in the Volga Military District.

In 1961 - 1963 - Secretary of the Komsomol committee of the party committee of the headquarters and management of the Volga Military District. He taught the history of philosophy and the course of dialectical materialism at the 3-year evening university of Marxism-Leninism at the Orenburg City Committee of the CPSU.

In 1963 - 1967 - deputy commander of the 77th artillery regiment for political affairs (Totsky camps of the Orenburg region).

In 1967 - 1968 - Deputy Head of the Political Division of the Motor Rifle Division of the Volga Military District (Kazan, then the city of Free Amur Region).

In 1968 - 1971 - head of the political department - deputy commander of the anti-aircraft missile brigade of the Far Eastern Military District (Sredne-Belaya settlement).

In 1968 - 1971 - student of the correspondence department of the Lenin Military-Political Academy, which he graduated in 1971 with honors.

In December 1971 - March 1974 - Head of the Political Department - Deputy Commander of the Motorized Rifle Division of the Far Eastern Military District.

In March 1974 - April 1977 - head of the political department - deputy commander of the army corps of the Far Eastern Military District (Sakhalin Region).

In April 1977 - 1980 - member of the Military Council - head of the political department of the 5th Army of the Far Eastern Military District (Ussuriysk city, Primorsky Territory).

In 1980 - January 1983 - 1st Deputy Head of the Political Department of the Red Banner Carpathian Military District (Lviv city).

In January 1983 - October 1991, he was a member of the Military Council - head of the Political Directorate of the Red Banner Odessa Military District.

In October 1991, he was transferred to the reserve. He lived in Odessa. He was a member of the Union of Soviet Officers, secretary for ideology of the Odessa Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Ukraine.

He is the author of three books: “Learn to Serve the Homeland,” “Toward the Shore of Men,” “Is It Good to Be a General?”
